| first put a pixel on a computer screen in 1981. That was with an Atari 400 computer with 16k of ram. There were no disk drives available yet, data was stored on a cassette tape and saved/loaded from a special tape drive. There were no paint programs either, and the only input device was for games, known as a joystick. But I was captivated by the idea of 'painting with light' so I learned Basic and 6502 8bit Assembly language to make my first images. Color printers did not exist at that time, so for hard copy I took 35mm film images of the screen. I still have the pictures and they look very primitive now.
I first got into 3D graphics and animation in 1988 on a Commodore Amiga computer. It had 512k of memory and one floppy drive. Those were heady days, with a real feeling of adventure and exploration among the tiny 3D community that existed then. After the demise of Commodore I migrated to the Windows and Macintosh platforms, where I work today.
This gallery will be updated every month or so. Feel free to use the imagery here for wallpaper and the like. I would appreciate a link if possible but if not it's no big deal.
